Job summary
We’re excited to be looking for a senior accredited vascular scientist to join our team to help deliver lower limb venous ultrasound assessments for the growing demand of patients looking for treatment of varicose veins and thread veins.
We’re proud to be expanding our services across the UK and are looking for someone who is keen to work flexibly across Exeter and the South West regions.
Key responsibilities
- Working in collaboration with vascular GPs, you will be responsible for conducting detailed venous ultrasound assessments and contribute to the clinical diagnosis of venous insufficiency and reflux distribution
- Maintain excellent patient records during appointments using our patient app software
- Work closely with colleagues to triage cases requiring further input (we have near immediate responses from senior clinical leadership)
- Attend clinical specialty meetings to discuss the care pathway, training, or any support required
- Provide a service for patients that is reassuring, compassionate and welcoming
Required qualifications/screenings and skills
- Accredited Clinical Vascular Scientist (AVS accreditation) for more than 2 years with over 600 varicose vein scans conducted
- MSc in Vascular Ultrasound
- Membership to The College and Society for Clinical Vascular Science (CSVS)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred but not required skills
- Previous experience in private practice
- Experience in echo guidance for varicose vein treatment
- Good understanding and knowledge of venous disease pathophysiology
- Experience as a senior vascular scientist within the NHS
