At the UK Vein Clinic, we are looking for a new Vascular Doctor/Medical Doctor to support the growing demand for varicose vein and thread vein treatment. This role requires a commitment of 3 days per week, with some flexibility on days and possibly including one Saturday on a rota basis. Candidates without specific experience in varicose and thread vein treatment will receive comprehensive training and hands‑on learning opportunities. The successful candidate will report to our Lead Vascular GP and may conduct clinical days in nearby locations.
Key responsibilities:
- Diagnose varicose veins and thread veins during initial diagnostic assessment appointments.
- Provide detailed information about treatment options and answer patient questions.
- With training, recommend the number of treatments required for effective thread vein removal.
- Deliver thread vein treatment for patients in clinic where varicose veins are not present.
- Conduct follow‑up appointments, assess patient progress, and perform brief ultrasound scans to confirm closure of treated varicose veins.
- Maintain excellent patient records using our patient app software.
- Triage cases requiring further input in collaboration with colleagues.
- Attend clinical specialty meetings to discuss care pathways, training, or any required support.
- Provide a reassuring, compassionate, and welcoming service for patients.
Required qualifications/screenings and skills:
- Medical Degree and valid license to practice in the United Kingdom.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred but not required skills:
- Experience in diagnosing and treating varicose veins.
- General practice experience.
- Knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques.
