We are looking for a talented BI Engineer to join our growing data team and play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Sitting at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and the business, you will design and deliver scalable business intelligence solutions that transform complex questions into trusted datasets, insightful dashboards, and actionable outputs. Working within a modern data platform, you will contribute to building analytics-ready datasets in the Gold layer, ensuring data is well-modelled, governed, and aligned to agreed business definitions and KPIs.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will partner closely with stakeholders across commercial, marketing, finance, operations, customer care, and engineering teams to understand their requirements and translate them into clear analytical outputs, metrics, and models.
- You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable data models within a Databricks-based Medallion Architecture, with a strong focus on the Gold layer.
- This includes building curated datasets that are reliable, performant, and aligned to business needs, while ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance across all outputs.
- In addition, you will develop analytical logic using Python, contributing to advanced analytics, feature engineering, and predictive modelling.
- You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to productionise models and ensure outputs are accessible and usable for the business.
- Working closely with Data Engineering and BI teams, you will help align on data structures, standards, and best practices, while supporting dashboards, reporting tools, and downstream analytics consumption.
What We Are Looking For
- We are seeking someone with strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, and data modelling, along with experience working with Databricks and Medallion Architecture concepts, particularly within the Gold layer.
- You should have a solid understanding of analytics and reporting data models, and ideally some exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, or statistical modelling.
- Alongside your technical skills, you will bring strong commercial awareness and the ability to understand how data supports revenue, growth, and operational efficiency.
- You are confident translating business requirements into technical solutions and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with BI and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, as well as exposure to commercial or marketing datasets, agile environments, and data governance practices, would be highly beneficial.
