Deputy Head of Stage – Swansea Arena
Location: Swansea, SA13BX
Hourly pay: £16.85

Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Stage with day‑to‑day technical operations of the theatre.
- Collaborate with the venue Electrics team, Technical & Buildings Manager and venue management to maintain and upgrade the venue to a high standard.
- Schedule maintenance, inspections and fit‑ups in line with the company Risk Management policy and relevant legislation.
- Oversee external contractors and undertake regular maintenance and carpentry projects.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with the resident production team and ensure sufficient support and oversight to the Stage Crew.
- Support stage management with crew scheduling and production maintenance whenever required.
- Assist with turnarounds across ATG’s WestEnd estate, ensuring smooth transitions between productions.
- Work evenings, weekends and be prepared to work with children or vulnerable people.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience working in a stage role within a theatre environment.
- Experience with counterweight flying systems and production rigging.
- Demonstrable carpentry skills.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
- Leadership skills and ability to run fit‑ups and get‑outs.
- Basic metalworking, plumbing and fire‑prevention system knowledge are desirable.
- Working at height experience and training.
- Basic understanding of BMS and HVAC systems.
- Recognised Health and Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH).
- First‑Aid training.
