TEG Live Europe and TEG Life Like Touring are looking for an experienced Head of Wardrobe and Wigs for the upcoming UK Tour of "Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!" from March - May 2026. The show features a talented ensemble of singer-actor-puppeteers, performing live whilst puppeteering beautiful big puppets. One cast member has multiple wig changes during the show. Candidates should be London based, have local work rights, and be available for all rehearsal and national tour dates from 2 March 2026 (with the possibility of pre-production and costume buying in the previous week paid pro-rata) through and up to/around 3 May 2026. Rehearsals will be in London from 2 - 21 March, before heading on tour.
Employee shall perform all services customarily rendered by Head of Wardrobe and Wigs of a musical theatre show (of the same quality and calibre as a West End musical). Without limitation the following employee duties shall include:
- Cast fittings, coordination, sourcing, alterations, finishing, repairs and maintenance as required of all show costumes.
- Liaise with Costume Designer regarding buying local items & approvals.
- Assist with managing aspects of the production, including pre-set of costumes, pre-set of wigs, quick changes, props, prop movements and assisting with puppetry and costumes during performances, as required.
- Care for all costumes before, during and after each performance including Meet & Greet character costumes.
- Care for all wigs before, during and after each performance.
- Oversee the regular washing/cleaning of all show costumes, puppeteer costumes as specific to show performance.
- Oversee regular setting/styling and maintenance of all show wigs as specific to show performance.
- Reporting wardrobe related issues/incidents/accidents.
- Ensuring all costumes and wigs are transported, unpacked, set and prepped with care to protect them from harm or from getting soiled before, during or after any performance.
- Oversee the regular maintenance and repairs on tour, as needed.
- Review of OH&S assessment of each costume in the rehearsal room and plan for risk management in conjunction with the show Directors and Choreographer.
- Adherence to Venue OH&S requirements to support the safety of Cast, Crew and Audience in every circumstance in every venue.
Experience & knowledge of costume making and maintenance. Experience in a Wardrobe Department and in theatrical dressing for a variety of professional shows. Demonstrated ability in wig styling, care, maintenance and show operations with wigs. Display an ability to multi-task and to thrive in a busy environment. Excellent hand sewing skills. Previous experience using industrial and domestic sewing machines. Demonstrated ability in a wide range of clothing construction techniques and alteration methods. Exhibit organisation & communication skills, written and verbal. Demonstrate a clear understanding of "performance" etiquette, including a comprehensive knowledge of theatre traditions, protocol and terminology. Demonstrated ability to work with creative and technical personnel and performers. Must be able to legally work in the UK. Ability to work under pressure, using tact, diplomacy and flexibility. Ability to find creative solutions to challenges.
