UK Staffing Group are delighted to be exclusively partnering with an established and rapidly growing insurance brokerage to recruit an experienced Group Risk & PMI Adviser. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Group Risk, Employee Benefits or Corporate Benefits professional who wants more than simply managing an existing portfolio.

The business has identified a significant opportunity to grow its Group Risk and Employee Benefits proposition and is looking for someone who can take ownership of this area, bring their expertise to the table and help shape what it becomes.

Why This Role?

  • You won't be joining a business and being asked to build a client base from nothing.
  • The business already benefits from an established broker and referral network which generates opportunities, giving you a strong platform from which to develop new business and grow revenue.
  • You'll become the Group Risk specialist within the business, working closely with SME and corporate clients and advising on a range of employee benefits solutions.
  • This is a specialist, commercially focused position rather than a management role.
  • You'll have the opportunity to influence the direction of the proposition, make your mark and build something with the backing of an established brokerage.
  • And importantly, the earning potential reflects the opportunity, with a competitive basic salary of up to £65,000 plus uncapped commission and six-figure earnings achievable in year one.

The Role

As the Group Risk & PMI Adviser, you'll advise SME and corporate clients across:

  • Group Life Assurance
  • Group Income Protection
  • Group Critical Illness
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Wider Employee Benefits

You'll work with a panel of leading insurers to understand client requirements, source appropriate solutions and deliver recommendations that provide genuine value. Alongside the technical side of the role, you'll be expected to play an important part in developing new business and converting opportunities into revenue. You'll have the autonomy to build relationships, develop opportunities and use your market knowledge to help grow the Group Risk proposition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with SME and corporate clients
  • Advise clients on Group Risk, Employee Benefits and PMI solutions
  • Conduct detailed fact-finds and needs analysis
  • Source and compare suitable products from a panel of leading insurers
  • Provide compliant and commercially appropriate recommendations
  • Develop new business opportunities and convert warm referrals
  • Generate additional business through existing client relationships and networking
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities
  • Engage confidently with senior decision-makers, including business owners, HR Directors and Finance Directors
  • Liaise with insurers, providers and internal teams to ensure smooth implementation
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle of the account
  • Keep up to date with changes across the Group Risk and Employee Benefits market
  • Provide technical and market insight to support the continued development of the proposition
  • Identify opportunities to grow revenue through cross-selling and new business

About You

We're looking for someone who already understands the Group Risk market and can combine technical knowledge with commercial ability. You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience advising on Group Risk products
  • Strong knowledge of Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness
  • Experience within an insurance broker, intermediary or Employee Benefits consultancy
  • A proven track record of generating and converting new business
  • Strong client relationship and consultative selling skills
  • Experience working with SME and/or corporate clients
  • Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • A commercially minded approach
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of opportunities
  • PMI / Private Medical Insurance experience would be advantageous but isn't essential.

We're also interested in speaking with people from wider Employee Benefits, Corporate Benefits, Healthcare or insurance backgrounds where there is strong transferable Group Risk experience and a genuine appetite for new business.

What You'll Get

  • Basic salary up to £65,000
  • Uncapped commission
  • Six-figure earning potential achievable in year one
  • Established broker and referral network generating warm opportunities
  • Opportunity to become the Group Risk subject matter expert within the business
  • Genuine scope to influence and develop the Employee Benefits proposition
  • 2 days working from home following probation
  • Modern Manchester City Centre offices
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing development
  • Clear long-term career progression
  • Monthly and quarterly incentives
  • European city break rewards
  • Regular company social events

The Opportunity

This isn't a role where you'll simply inherit a desk, manage a team or work through an existing book with limited scope to make changes. The business is actively investing in the growth of its Group Risk and Employee Benefits proposition, and the successful person will play a key role in that development. You'll have the backing of an established business, access to an existing referral network and the autonomy to use your own expertise and commercial experience to build revenue.

If you're an experienced Group Risk Adviser, Employee Benefits Consultant, Corporate Benefits Consultant, Group Risk Consultant, Healthcare Consultant or similar professional and you're looking for an opportunity where your expertise can genuinely influence the direction of a growing business, we'd like to hear from you.
