Are you an Assistant Estimator with 1-3 years' experience looking to develop your career within a specialist civil engineering consultancy? Due to continued growth and expansion of their Glasgow office, they are looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Estimator who is eager to develop their technical and commercial expertise while working on nationally significant infrastructure schemes. The Opportunity

Working alongside experienced Cost Engineers, you'll support the delivery of cost estimates and commercial analysis across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects. You'll gain exposure to every stage of the estimating process while developing a strong understanding of civil engineering construction, project costing and commercial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for highways, bridges, civil engineering, drainage, water and infrastructure projects.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Produce quantity take-offs and support the preparation of Bills of Quantities.
  • Maintain estimating databases and project cost information.
  • Support senior Cost Engineers throughout the estimating process.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and project teams to deliver accurate cost information.
  • Develop your understanding of infrastructure estimating, risk analysis and cost planning.

About You

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • 1-3 years' experience within estimating or a similar construction or engineering role.
  • A background in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good Microsoft Excel skills.
  • A proactive attitude and genuine desire to learn.

Experience within any of the following would be advantageous:

Experience using estimating software would be beneficial but is not essential.
