UK Staffing Group are currently recruiting for a Fire and Flood Technician to join a leading fire and flood restoration business, based out of their unit in Nelson, Lancashire. Previous experience in fire and water damage restoration would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be provided - including specialist training with the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) for notifiable non-licensed asbestos removal.

What's On Offer?

  • Permanent position with weekly pay
  • Monday to Friday working - no weekend work expected as standard (very occasional weekend call-outs only, roughly once every few months)
  • Early finishes - this is a 'job and knock' role, so if the work is done for the day, you finish for the day
  • No two days the same - a different location and different job most days, working outdoors and on the road rather than stuck in one place
  • Full training provided, including specialist fire and flood restoration training and ARCA-accredited asbestos awareness/removal training
  • Genuine career progression opportunities
  • Overnight stay allowance paid on the rare occasions it's required (maximum once per fortnight)
  • A small, friendly team environment

About the Role

  • Attending fire-damaged properties to carry out restoration work, including listing and disposal of affected contents, removal of carbon deposits from the structure of the property, and specialist cleaning of contents including carpets and upholstery
  • Attending flood-damaged properties to carry out damage limitation work, such as extracting standing water, partial strip-out of affected materials, and installing drying equipment
  • Drawing up and monitoring drying programmes
  • Carefully packing contents for removal and storage
  • Carrying out notifiable non-licensed asbestos removal (full ARCA training provided)

What We're Looking For

  • Full, clean driving licence - may be required to drive a company pool vehicle
  • Flexibility to work away, with a maximum of one overnight stay per fortnight when required (allowance paid)
  • Flexibility to attend weekend call-outs if needed (rare - typically once every few months)
  • Respectful and professional manner when working in customers' homes or businesses
  • Knowledge of fire and flood damage restoration would be advantageous but is not essential
