UK Staffing Group is recruiting a Freight Forwarder on behalf of a leading international logistics provider based in Preston.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Freight Forwarder to join a high-performing logistics team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a freight professional looking to take ownership of multi-model operations while contributing to business growth and client development. You will play a key role in managing complex shipments across European road haulage, deep sea container logistics, and air freight, while developing strong client relationships through operational excellence and strategic freight management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Freight Management
- Oversee and coordinate complex shipments across road, sea, and air freight
- Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and monitoring of multimodal transport solutions
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise routing and carrier selection
- Accurately enter and manage customer orders in a timely manner
- Utilise Qargo software to drive operational efficiency
- Negotiate competitive rates with suppliers and carriers
- Ensure best practice across freight forwarding operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hauliers and subcontractors
