About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a national training provider for a Groundworks Construction Tutor. This role is ideal for experienced Groundworks, Civil Engineering or Rail professionals looking to move into training, as well as qualified tutors seeking a new opportunity. You will deliver CITB-accredited Civil Engineering and Groundworks programmes to employed and unemployed learners. Delivery will take place at employer sites, training academies and occasionally online. You will support learners through to successful completion, tracking progress via OneFile and ensuring all compliance and funding requirements are met. The role includes travel across Watford and surrounding areas, with occasional overnight stays (expenses covered). Full training can be provided for candidates with strong industry experience who wish to gain teaching and assessing qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess Level 2-3 Groundworks and Civil Engineering qualifications
  • Provide group and 1:1 training at employer premises and training centres
  • Plan delivery schedules in line with employer requirements
  • Visit learners in the workplace to carry out teaching and assessment
  • Track learner progress using OneFile e-portfolio
  • Produce regular progress reports
  • Complete funding documentation and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in quality assurance and standardisation
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and health & safety

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong occupational experience in Groundworks, Civil Engineering or Rail (essential)
  • Experience delivering training, or willingness to move into a training role
  • Confident delivering to groups in workplace settings
  • Organised with strong communication skills
  • Familiar with e-portfolio systems (desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Willing to travel as required

Qualifications (Held or Working Towards)

  • Teaching qualification (minimum PTLLS or equivalent)
  • Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, D32/D33 or equivalent)
  • Level 3 qualification Groundworks/Civils
  • Maths and English at Level 2 or above
