Competitive Salary – dependent on experience and qualifications

Direct Appointment – No Recruitment Agencies

Following our recent Management Buyout (MBO), UK Sprinklers Ltd is strengthening its team and looking for an experienced Senior Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our Bolton/Bury-based design team.

Our core business is Residential & Domestic sprinkler systems and Wet & Dry Riser installations, with some commercial work also undertaken.

This is a genuine senior role working directly with the business owners, combining hands‑on design, project coordination and technical leadership, with responsibility for supporting and developing our existing design team.

The Role

  • Design and develop Residential & Domestic sprinkler and Wet & Dry Riser systems.
  • Produce detailed AutoCAD and Revit 3D working drawings.
  • Undertake hydraulic calculations and ensure designs meet relevant standards.
  • Coordinate designs with clients, consultants, architects, builders and other trades.
  • Oversee the design element of projects from inception through to completion, working closely with Project Managers.
  • Review and provide technical support on designs produced by the wider team.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the design team.
  • Attend site/design meetings where required and assist with resolving technical and programme issues.
  • Help develop and improve our design processes and standards.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience within the fire sprinkler design industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Residential & Domestic sprinkler design, including BS 9251 and BS EN 12845.
  • Experience with Wet & Dry Riser design would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and hydraulic calculation software.
  • Experience of coordinating or overseeing projects.
  • The ability to take ownership, provide technical leadership and work closely with Project Managers.
  • Experience of mentoring or developing other designers.

LPCB qualifications would be advantageous, as would commercial sprinkler design experience.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to play an important role in the next stage of UK Sprinklers, working closely and directly with the business owners to help build and develop a strong, collaborative, predominantly office-based design team following the MBO.

We are looking for someone who wants to have a genuine influence on the business, rather than simply being another designer within a large organisation.

A good competitive salary will be offered, dependent on experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.

This is a direct appointment by UK Sprinklers Ltd. Please do not contact us via recruitment agencies.

  • If you are an experienced sprinkler designer looking for a senior role where you can combine design with technical leadership, project oversight and team development, we would like to hear from you.
