The Opportunity

British Rowing and the UK Sports Institute have an exciting opportunity for a full-time senior Physiotherapist to work with the Olympic Women’s squad. We are seeking an experienced practitioner who has worked with high-performance sporting teams.

You will be an integral member of a closely-knit high-performance team, collaborating with coaches specialised in rowing and strength and conditioning, and support personnel spanning various science and medicine roles. Our goal is to assist rowers in achieving podium success on the global stage.

The GBRT has a phenomenal track record of performance at the highest levels of Olympic and Paralympic sport and is seeking an exceptional Senior Physiotherapist to continue delivering successful performances at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Location:

British Rowing functions out of a bespoke NTC in Caversham (near Reading) where athletes can train both on the water and on land while receiving World Class Coaching and Support Services. Delivery will mainly be in person with some remote/virtual support as needed. Travel for camps and competitions is approximately 85 days per year, generally in blocks of up to 2 weeks.

Role requirements:

A typical week would be Monday to Friday, with some weekend work and attendance at camps and competitions.

Reporting to the Athlete Health (MSK) Lead and embedded within the Olympic Women’s squad, you will have the opportunity to positively impact athlete performance. Experience in rowing is not essential, but a passion to learn about the sport is important.

We seek a highly experienced and qualified practitioner who can work collaboratively in a demanding, interdisciplinary environment. Being accessible, approachable, and visible is key.
