This role is non remunerated, and the time commitment is on average around 2 - 3 days per month, with a combination of face to face and hybrid meetings.

The Scottish Rugby Limited Board (SRL) is accountable for the creation, implementation and delivery of the strategy and budget for Scottish Rugby. This board is made up of both Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors, chaired by John McGuigan.

A key part of the Non-Executive Director role on the SRL Board is to challenge constructively, support and mentor the leadership team and existing Board members around their strategic priorities and to drive business performance on and off the pitch.

This role is one of two NXD roles on the SRL board which is appointed by the SRU Custodian Board, chaired by Professor Lorne Crerar, which provides 'light touch' oversight.
