As a Sport Accountant, you'll play a central role in how UK Sport oversees, monitors, and strengthens the use of public investment across our funded sports. You will manage a portfolio of National Governing Bodies and Partners, working closely with the Sport Finance Manager to develop and refine the systems and processes that keep our grant administration, monitoring, and evaluation robust and efficient.
You’ll also monitor and assess National Governing Bodies budgets throughout the full funding cycle, leading quarterly meetings, supporting annual investment reviews, and collaborating with colleagues across the Performance Investment Strategy team to drive efficiencies and safeguard public investment. Day to day, you’ll help the team make smarter, faster decisions.
You’ll lead how we collect and use systemwide financial data, strengthen our controls and assurance processes, and shape how grant expenditure is analysed and reported. You’ll build Power BI dashboards, develop financial models, and create clear, evidence-based insight that helps sports and internal teams understand risks, trends, and opportunities.
You will also contribute to the wider investment process, feeding into funding agreements, reviewing business cases, supporting the management of the Sports Investment budget, and ensuring the integrity of the financial information we rely on. With a proactive approach and an eye for detail, you’ll challenge and support sports to deliver value for money and operate with strong financial discipline.
