UK Sport is seeking to appoint up to four independent external experts to join its newly established Group Data, Digital and AI (DDAI) Committee. The Committee will act as a formal sub-group of the UK Sport and Institute Board, providing oversight, challenge and expert advice on the delivery of an ambitious Data, Digital and AI strategy designed to transform high-performance sport across the UK.

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in helping Olympic and Paralympic sport harness the power of data, digital technologies and artificial intelligence to drive innovation, improve decision-making and support world-class success on and off the field of play.

As an Independent Member, you will provide strategic insight, independent challenge and expert guidance to support the successful delivery of the DDAI strategy. The Committee oversees progress, investment decisions, risk and assurance arrangements, governance, ethics, security and the practical application of data, digital and AI capabilities across the high-performance sporting system.

Working alongside Board members and senior executives from UK Sport and the UK Sports Institute, you will help ensure the strategy delivers meaningful impact across performance, people, growth and productivity.

We are keen to attract individuals with senior leadership experience and recognised expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Digital transformation and technology delivery
  • Artificial intelligence strategy, adoption and governance
  • Data governance and information management
  • Cyber security and digital risk
  • AI ethics and responsible innovation
  • Public sector technology leadership
  • Digital products, platforms and services

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have operated at Board, Executive or C-suite level and who have led significant organisational or system-wide transformation enabled by data, digital technologies or AI.

Terms of Appointment
