In less than 400 days, Glasgow will transform into a global hub for sport and culture, welcoming 3,000 athletes from 74 nations, across 11 days of unforgettable action, fuelled by the city\'s unstoppable energy and passion.
Glasgow 2026 is set to revolutionise the Games, with a bold, \'Clyde Built\' experience that reflects the city\'s resilience and innovation. This is more than just an event; it\'s a movement - a celebration of unity, equality, and sporting excellence. A movement that will not only deliver a world-class sporting experience but will also create a lasting legacy, maximising social and economic benefits for the city and the Commonwealth.
For the first time in recent Commonwealth Games history, Glasgow 2026 will not include a traditional Athletes\' Village. Instead, the Games will operate a distributed accommodation model, showcasing the best of Glasgow\'s hospitality and creating a unique experience for participants and guests.
If you are passionate about creating high-quality experiences, love working in complex operational environments, and want to be part of a team delivering something historic,
then Glasgow 2026 wants you.
The Role
As Accommodation Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the accommodation programme for a diverse range of client groups - including athletes, team officials, technical officials, CGF and Games Family members, media, broadcasters, and the Organising Committee\'s staff.
Your work will ensure every guest receives a welcoming, efficient, and professional experience that supports their role in the Games. From securing room blocks and managing allocations to resolving last-minute changes and coordinating Games-time operations, you will play a critical part in delivering one of the most complex and visible aspects of the event.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver a new model for Games accommodation - one that is inclusive, efficient, guest-centred, and uniquely Glasgow.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will lead the day-to-day delivery and operational planning of the accommodation programme, supporting the integration of accommodation and travel management suppliers into the wider Glasgow 2026 team.
You will help develop the Accommodation Strategy, ensuring agreed levels of service are delivered consistently across all client groups whilst building and maintaining strong relationships with hotels, serviced apartments, educational institutions, and other accommodation partners, supporting procurement and contracting processes including service standards, room allocations, and pricing agreements.
You will work closely with internal teams including Transport, Security, Protocol, and Arrivals & Departures to ensure accommodation plans are fully integrated with other Games operations. You will help manage centralised booking systems and processes, track inventory and client requirements, and coordinate site visits and readiness activities.
During Games-time, you will act as a key liaison for client representatives, managing last-minute changes, issue resolution, and the delivery of welcome services. You will monitor service levels, manage feedback, and ensure a consistently high standard of guest experience.
Responsibilities of the role will evolve as planning progresses, and you will need to adapt to changing needs and priorities as the Games approach.
Key Skills and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will bring experience in accommodation, hotel services, or major event operations with a strong focus on client service delivery. You will have proven ability to coordinate large-scale logistics and booking systems across multiple locations and experience managing relationships with suppliers and client representatives.
Excellent organisational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities, combined with project management skills and the ability to adapt plans in a dynamic environment. Experienced in financial forecasting and managing high-value contracts is essential, as is a solid understanding of service level agreements, contracting, and cost control.
You will be confident handling guest information and familiar with data privacy requirements.
It would be an advantage if you have experience working in multi-sport or international event environments, knowledge of Glasgow\'s hospitality landscape, or experience supporting CGAs, sports federations, or international delegations.
Understanding of accessibility, cultural needs, and inclusive service delivery in accommodation contexts is also desirable but not essential
