Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Experienced Carer role based in Walthamstow. The Experienced Carer will support people in their own homes with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, mobility assistance and medication prompts, following individual care plans.
The role involves providing companionship, emotional support, and conversation, as well as encouraging hobbies, social engagement, and community participation. The Experienced Carer will assist with light household tasks, meal preparation, and safe use of equipment, while maintaining accurate records and reporting concerns promptly.
The position also requires close collaboration with families, colleagues, and health professionals to promote safety, dignity, and independence at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a carer or support worker in domiciliary, live‑in, or residential care, ideally supporting older adults or people with disabilities.
- Full mandatory training preferred.
- Knowledge of personal care practices, safeguarding, person‑centred care, and maintaining dignity, privacy and choice.
- Ability to maintain clear, accurate notes and follow written care plans, risk assessments and guidelines.
- Willingness and physical ability to perform moving and handling tasks safely, following training and best practice.
- Right to work in the UK; satisfactory references and enhanced background checks (e.g., DBS or equivalent) will be required.
