Job Description

Salary: Competitive

Company Description

UK Robotics delivers cutting-edge robotics and automation solutions with expertise in turnkey and modular integrated laboratory automation systems. Our flagship product, Revolution, is a dynamic scheduler driving next-generation lab automation for the global Life Science industry. We design and deliver bespoke integration systems, custom hardware and cloud-scale software platforms, integrating them into complex biotech laboratory environments.

Role Description

We’re looking for a Project Manager who thrives in a cross-disciplinary environment where hardware and software converge. This is not a paper-pushing role, it’s a hands-on opportunity to lead complex, high-impact projects that combine robotics, electromechanical systems, biotechnology and cloud-based software platforms.

As a Project Manager at UK Robotics, you’ll be responsible for scoping, planning, and delivering projects that shape the future of laboratory automation. You’ll work directly with engineers across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines, as well as with clients in biotech and pharma, to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of projects spanning both software (cloud/SaaS, scheduling platforms) and hardware (automation devices, robotic integrations).
  • Translate customer requirements into clear deliverables and milestones for internal teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and software workstreams align.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risks, with clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with customers in the life science and biotech sectors to ensure systems meet regulatory, operational, and scientific requirements.
  • Support technical discussions and contribute to problem-solving without needing to be the engineer in the room.
  • Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and tools.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of project management in the life science, biotech, or medical device sector.
  • Experience managing projects that include both hardware development and software delivery
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation or scientific instrumentation is highly desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage complex, multi-threaded projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both technical and non-technical.
  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to adapt in fast-paced environments.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (GxP, ISO standards) in biotech or medtech.
  • Technical background in engineering, software, or science with ability to dive deeper when needed.

Why Join Us

  • Lead projects at the intersection of robotics, automation, and biotech.
  • Work alongside world-class engineers and scientists to deliver systems that accelerate discovery.
  • Be part of a rapidly growing company where your leadership directly shapes outcomes.
  • Gain exposure to multi-disciplinary teams & working environments.
