Office of Rail and Road is looking for a HM Principal Inspector of Railways: Emergency Management Specialist (London office).

Working pattern: Hybrid - minimum two days per week / 40% of time working from a workplace location.

Location: London

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to the CTSA on emergency management issues, including fire and rescue operations.
  • Lead inspections of Channel Tunnel operators’ emergency preparedness and response arrangements.
  • Offer wider support to ORR on emergency planning across GB rail operations.
  • Represent the UK as part of the CTSA delegation.
  • Lead a small, multi-disciplinary team of CTSA inspectors and emergency services.
  • Work closely with French counterparts to coordinate the regulation of Channel Tunnel operations.

Qualifications:

Highly experienced emergency planning professional, with proven expertise in emergency management, inspections and coordination with cross-border partners.
