Responsibilities

  • Deal with information governance and compliance matters including handling requests under Data Protection legislation and requests for information under the SRA’s Transparency Code (in line with the Freedom of Information Act) as well as promoting best practice in records management.
  • Act as a key contact for data protection and information governance, records management and information security incidents. Support colleagues in handling complex disclosure matters and participate in projects where advice and support are required.
  • Raise the profile of Information Governance and increase awareness of data protection and information security across the organisation, ensuring colleagues understand their responsibilities by developing and delivering training and awareness sessions, creating policies, procedures and guidance.
  • Assist the DPO’s wider team in all aspects of information governance and compliance.

Role and requirements

This is an exciting role that will suit an individual who has previous experience in working in a similar environment and possess knowledge of data protection legislation. The candidate should have excellent attention to detail, good time and workload management skills, strong communication skills and the ability to assess and prioritise competing demands on their time.
