Requirements of the role

We are seeking a Director for Business Change, a role which will be accountable for defining the vision, objectives, and strategic direction of the Ofgem change programme, ensuring it collectively delivers the intended organisational outcomes and benefits. This programme will align Ofgem with the findings of the DESNZ Review of Ofgem, that is currently underway, and results are expected to be announced in late Autumn 2025. The programme is expected to deliver new ways of working, digital transformation, and cultural change to ensure we are fit for the future.

Job Description

  • Act as the visible sponsor for organisational change, providing leadership and direction to senior stakeholders and supporting strategic decisions.
  • Own the strategic outcomes of the change programme, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and approving prioritisation and investment decisions.
  • Chair the Steering Committee, address escalated issues, and ensure risks and benefits are reviewed and managed at programme level.
  • Drive cultural change and engagement at a strategic level while championing change capability across the organisation.
  • Make final decisions on resource allocation and portfolio adjustments, acting as the point of escalation for programme-level risks.
