UKR Group is looking for 2x experienced Shuttering Carpenters to start ASAP in a job in Temple, Central London.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to create formwork for concrete structures, specifically ground beams and columns.
- Construct, erect, install, and dismantle temporary formwork and shuttering systems to support concrete until it sets.
- Measure, cut, and assemble timber, plywood, and other materials for formwork structures with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all work complies with current building codes, health and safety regulations, and site-specific risk assessments.
- Collaborate with site engineers, steel fixers, and concrete workers to ensure formwork aligns correctly with reinforcement and design specifications.
- Inspect completed shuttering prior to concrete pour and make adjustments as needed.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any faults to the site supervisor.
- Adhere to project timelines and quality standards, ensuring minimal waste of materials.
Skills:
- Proven carpentry and joinery skills, with a strong focus on shuttering and formwork.
- In-depth understanding of concrete behaviour and structural support requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and formwork plans.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Good knowledge of safe manual handling practices and site safety procedures.
- Teamworking skills and the ability to liaise effectively with other trades.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in all weather conditions, at height or in confined spaces if required.
Requirements:
- CSCS Card
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent trade qualification
- Proven experience in shuttering work, specifically on ground beams and vertical column formwork
- Own PPE and tools
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Must have 2 check able references
