This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Private Capital Industry Development Commercial (Events, Learning & Development) team in a dynamic commercially focused role that combines a meticulous approach to copywriting, data management/CRM, sales, and account management. It is ideally suited to someone who is detail-oriented, confident communicating with senior stakeholders, and motivated by delivering high-quality member experiences and hitting commercial targets.
The role is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days in our central London office and may include some occasional travel within the UK to attend UK Private Capital events. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about membership and working in a trade association who is keen to develop a strong understanding of our members, the private capital industry, and the events we deliver. You will enjoy building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders and thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues across Events, Marketing, and Membership teams.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities will include developing, managing and delivering sales and marketing strategies to maximise delegate attendance and revenue across our commercial events programme, while ensuring an excellent experience for members and attendees. Day-to-day, you will work cross-functionally to drive successful event outcomes and contribute to the commercial success of Events. There will also be an opportunity to support our Investor Roadshows across Asia, the Middle East, and the USA, offering exposure to international markets and the ability to build relationships with senior industry participants. There may be scope for the role to evolve over time in this area, providing opportunities for further development and progression within the organisation.
Marketing and Copywriting- Develop innovative and results-driven sales and promotional email campaigns for 12-14 annual events with a total annual event revenue target of approximately £1m, working in close partnership with the Events, Membership and Marketing teams.
- Create engaging and persuasive marketing emails to drive engagement and increase ticket sales.
- Use our CRM systems to successfully manage a sales pipeline as well as drawing on external data sources and desk research.
- Develop and manage target lists for specific event campaigns.
- Contribute to budgeting, financial mapping and modelling exercises in relation to ticket sales.
- Manage bookings and all administration relating to ticketed events.
- Analyse sales trends, feedback and market trends and provide regular reports to colleagues and senior management.
- Utilise AI tools to support data analysis work, generate target lists, etc.
- Engage and develop relationships with both members and non-members of the UK Private Capital, understand the interest of our different member types and address their needs by matching it with our suite of events.
- Generate sales through a combination of email correspondence, video calls and face-to-face meetings.
- Support the sale of places at our Investor Roadshow events where an account management approach to sales is essential.
- Represent UK Private Capital and its work and network with members at events.
- An understanding of the industry or a willingness, ability and interest to learn about the private capital sector and develop a high level of understanding of UK Private Capital members and events in order to effectively target and sell events.
- Work on ad hoc project-based activities to support the membership and commercial team in relation to member relationship management.
- 3-5 years marketing/sales experience is preferable with the ability to articulate the impact you have had on driving revenue growth through a systematic approach to pipeline management, outreach and relationship building.
- Strong administrative background and highly proficient knowledge of Excel and Word (at least intermediate level). This will enable you to take ownership of the management of all ticket sales documentation e.g. master spreadsheet, pipelines, reconciliations.
- Knowledge and experience of email marketing best practices, including A/B testing, segmentation, and personalised targeting.
- Experience in using email marketing platforms, preferably Dot Digital.
- Proficiency in the use of CRM, in particular Microsoft Dynamics.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel is required, particularly in relation to managing and analysing data.
- Self-starter with a positive "can-do" attitude & a strong work ethic.
- Excellent copywriting skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas and concepts to a broad set of audiences.
- Demonstrate an organised, methodical and accurate approach to work and ability to focus on multiple, competing priorities.
- Strong internal and external relationship building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and a track record of success through managing customer relationships.

- Private capital/financial services knowledge is an advantage but not essential if you have an interest or willingness to learn about the industry and Indus sector.
