The predicted salary is between 33500 - 46000 £ per year.

This Pole erector / Lorry Driver will report to the Project Manager and will work within Network Operations based in our Risby office. You will be a permanent employee. You will attract a salary of £41,560 and a bonus of 3%. If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check.

Job Purpose: The job purpose of the pole erector/ lorry driver is to drive the pole lorry, supplying poles to site. Erecting new overhead line poles on working sites either before or on the day of overhead line works. To replace and remove old overhead line poles from working sites either on the day of overhead line works. To support all site-based operations as instructed by line manager.

Dimensions:

  • To drive and operate an HGV pole lorry with HiAb and auger attachment.
  • Set up site signage or assist with site traffic management.
  • Excavate holes for new poles either with a HiAb mounted auger, mechanical excavator or by hand depending on site circumstances.
  • Erect poles by means of either the lorry's crane arm or excavators bucket using suitably rated slings or by hand as part of the site team.
  • To be a team player and lead the team.
  • Diligently perform the responsibilities within their role in the team.
  • Be prepared to challenge unsafe practices.
  • Work to the relevant operational procedures, manuals and DSR's.
  • Demonstrate a safety culture.
  • Always follow all business procedures and company safety policies.

Knowledge qualifications and experience:

  • HGV Class II Licence holder
  • ALLMI – Lorry Mounted Loader H&A>20T
  • Vehicle & Excavation Banksman
  • NRSWA Qualification – Sections 1,2 & 3
  • Be conversant with HSS 01 080
  • Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
  • First aid training certificate
  • Off Road Driving (BORDA)
  • Previous or current UKPN authorisations
  • Mechanical excavator training certificate
  • Sub Station Entry
  • Operate High Reach Vehicle & Plant nr OH (Up to and inc. 11KV)
  • Safe Use of Approved Pole Jacks
  • Operate High Reach Vehicle and Plant near OH Line
  • Operate High Reach Vehicle and Plant near OH Line & LS7 Pole Erection (U.P.S)
  • City and Guilds 2304 Level 2 Electrical Engineering

  • Usage of mobile tablet device to receive work instructions and record working time and actual work completed.
