The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
This Trainee Designer, Junior Designer or Project Designer will report to the Lead Design Engineer and will work within Connections based in our St Neots office. You will be a permanent employee.
You will attract a salary of £42,222 (Trainee), £54,166 (Junior) and £65,241 (Project Designer) and a bonus of 3%. This role can also offer blended working after probationary period (6 months) - 3 days in the office and 2 remote.

Role Purpose: You will work within a team of designers reporting to a Lead Design Engineer, producing designs, quotations and work packs for customer connections. As the Project Designer you will be guided by the Design Policy and the Connection Charging Manual, so are expected to meet all Electricity Guaranteed Standards and safety standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Professional liaison with customers, their agents and internal stakeholders to gain the information required to complete a quotation.
- Produce designs, quotations and work packs to agreed license condition and guaranteed standard timescales. This will include network analysis, reinforcement design and Netmap drawings.
- Consistent knowledge and application of the Design and Connection Charging Policies and relevant Codes of Practice.
- Produce work packs satisfying all safety and delivery requirements.
- Together with Network Operations colleagues, ensure delivery of projects to financial targets and support project closure through financial reconciliation.
- Demonstrate a keen awareness of the design and operation of the electricity distribution network.
- Have the drive to give excellent service to customers to meet their needs.
- Good organisation skills including the ability to plan, manage time and other resources efficiently.
- Show initiative whilst working as a team player, taking ownership and contributing to targets and supporting team success.
- Demonstrate intelligent balanced judgements in all matters.
- Enthusiastic customer focus, without losing sight of safety and security of supply objectives.
Nature and Scope: The Connections Directorate designs and undertakes new and altered electricity connections within the UK Power Networks Licence area. All works are customer-driven and the design team have to manage their time to meet customer expectations and comply with Licence Conditions, Guaranteed Standards and Safety Standards. The Project Designer is required to liaise with customers, develop new connection designs that meet the customer requirements and produce quotations and work packs.
