The predicted salary is between 45858 - 45858 £ per year.
This Electrical Fitter will report to the Project Engineer and will work within Network Operations based in our West Ham office. You will be a permanent employee. You will attract a salary of £45,858 plus Inner London Allowance + benefits and a bonus of 3%. If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check.

Job Purpose:
To work as part of a team, carrying out the full range of duties associated with Primary and Grid substation construction at voltages between 230V and 132kV.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Installation and testing of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network.
- Fault location and repair of all plant, apparatus and cables associated with the Grid, Primary and Distribution network.
- Supervise work undertaken by UK Power Networks contractors.
- Ensure that all staff for which you will be responsible work to the DSR and to demonstrate a strong safety culture.
- Use IT equipment
- Supervise construction / maintenance staff within their working party.
Qualifications and Experience:
The following skills and attributes are important to this role:
- City and Guilds 2339 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrical Power Engineering (Preferred) or City and Guilds 2365 – Level 2 Certificate in Electrotechnical Craft or equivalent
- Completed an approved Apprenticeship in Electrical Fitting, Cable Jointing or Electrical Installation.
- ECS Installation Electrical Card/EUSR SHEA Power or equivalent.
- Flexible and able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to problem solve in a practical way and able to work under pressure.
- Must have a clean driving licence.
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation.
Preferred:
- City and Guilds 2382 – Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition)
- Working within a DNO environment
- SMSTS competence
- Oxy-propane and gas awareness training
- Confined space trained
- Receive PTW and Manage Site Safety
- Move/Use Cranes/Scaffold in HV Compounds
- Move/Use Ladders/Long Objects in HV Compounds
Nature and Scope:
You will play an important role in the safe completion of Capital & Connections Works Programme. You may work at any location within the UK Power Networks region they have been employed. You would undertake training to increase your skills that could lead to progression within the organisation and may receive salary and band progression upon achieving the higher authorisation levels.

Employees need to be aware that for some craft and operational roles that work at height, or use fall arrest devices, there is an upper weight limit of 116Kg due to maximum safe working load of the safety equipment that is used.
