This Linesperson Team Leader/Chargehand will report to the Project Manager and work within the Network Operations Capital Delivery team based in our Downham Market, Norfolk office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with customers and landowners affected by our works and proactively work towards improving customer satisfaction scores.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Field Managers to ensure timely delivery of customer-focused works.
  • Liaise with other delivery functions to ensure the smooth running of Distribution Capital Delivery works.
  • Take a proactive approach to customer care and maintain a record of zero customer complaints.
  • Use a mobile tablet device to receive work instructions and record working time and actual work completed.
  • Have or be willing to work towards AP or SAP authorisations.
  • Have an in-depth knowledge of overhead line construction techniques and operation of the overhead line network.
  • Hold or be willing to work towards an HGV driving license.
  • Maintain competency as a slinger and signaller.
  • Hold a UK Power Networks competency certificate.
  • Hold a City & Guilds 2339 (formerly 2322) certificate or equivalent.
  • Be a joint support person (Jointers mate).
  • Complete Land Rover Off Road Driver Training (BORDA Standard).
  • Hold an IPAF MEWP Operator – Static Boom (1b) licence.
  • Work on own initiative and complete self-risk assessments.
  • Be prepared to train and learn new skills to perform the full range of duties.
  • Have experience and in-depth knowledge in the field of low voltage and 11 kV overhead line construction and maintenance.
  • Hold an HAUC (NRSWA) qualification as a supervisor and operative.
  • Be flexible with attitude to work and working hours.
  • Build good working relationships within your own team and with wider contacts.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals in a clear and concise manner.
  • Possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to lead and work as a team, strong interpersonal skills and a strong safety focus.
