UK Power Networks Services is looking for a skilled Operational Engineer to help deliver essential construction, maintenance and fault‑response activities across our high‑voltage networks (400V–33kV). If you thrive in fast‑paced environments, enjoy problem‑solving, and want to play a vital role in keeping critical infrastructure running safely and reliably — this could be your next career move.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver construction, maintenance and fault activities across UKPN Services and client assets
  • Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day engineering works with Technicians, Fitters, Apprentices and Contractors
  • Represent UKPN Services at client and contractor meetings
  • Oversee substation and cabling projects, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance
  • Manage commissioning, testing, protection systems, and asset updates
  • Support planning, procurement, change management and continuous improvement initiatives

What you’ll bring:

  • Minimum 11kV Senior Authorised Person (be active as a 33kV SAP)
  • Strong experience across 400V–33kV distribution systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and work across varied site environments
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • IOSH / NEBOSH
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations
  • Understanding of UK Power Networks Services and client requirements
