What You\’ll Do
As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you\’ll bring your technical expertise to a diverse range of projects-both contestable and non‑contestable-supporting substations, overhead lines, cable routes, and wider utility infrastructure.
You will:
Lead the production of civil and structural designs that meet UK standards and CDM 2015 requirements
Collaborate with Project Managers, Electrical Designers and CDM teams
Oversee technical, contractual and procurement documentation
Mentor Trainee and Graduate Engineers
Engage with construction and CAD teams to bring designs to life
Visit operational and construction sites to support delivery What You Bring
Degree in Civil Engineering
Experience across substations, overhead lines or cable civil works
Strong grounding in structural engineering and utility‑sector construction
CDM 2015 knowledge and IOSH training
Ability to work independently, set targets and contribute innovative solutions
Familiarity with AutoCAD (Bentley software a bonus)
Experience with planning permissions, surveys and site setting‑out
Broad knowledge of power engineering plant/equipment
