UK Power Networks Services is looking for a skilled Operational Engineer to help deliver essential construction, maintenance and fault‑response activities across our high‑voltage networks (400V-33kV). What you'll be doing
- Deliver construction, maintenance and fault activities across UKPN Services and client assets
- Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day engineering works with Technicians, Fitters, Apprentices and Contractors
- Represent UKPN Services at client and contractor meetings
- Oversee substation and cabling projects, ensuring high standards of safety and compliance
- Manage commissioning, testing, protection systems, and asset updates
- Support planning, procurement, change management and continuous improvement initiatives
What you'll bring
- Minimum 11kV Senior Authorised Person (33kV desirable)
- HNC in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent/work‑in‑progress)
- Strong experience across 400V-33kV distribution systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and work across varied site environments
- Excellent planning, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
Nice‑to‑haves
- IOSH / NEBOSH
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- Understanding of UK Power Networks Services and client requirements
