Stables Supervisor (Permanent)

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the daily operations of the stable yard, ensuring the health and welfare of all horses through feeding, grooming, exercise, and health checks.
• Lead and coordinate the team of Grooms, assigning duties, overseeing routines, and monitoring performance.
• Plan and manage individual horse care schedules, including riding programmes and rest rotations during off-seasons.
• Ride and handle a range of horses, including stallions, and provide assistance to team members with challenging animals.
• Monitor stock levels and order feed, bedding, and other supplies as required.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of records relating to horse routines, treatments, and activities.
• Liaise with the Manager for veterinary care and paddock management needs.
• Secure the premises daily, ensuring proper opening and locking procedures are followed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety across the facility.
• Address and escalate any issues related to staff performance or horse welfare.
• Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Proven experience in horse care/management with a high standard of husbandry (Essential)
• Experience in a supervisory or team leader role (Desirable)
• Ability to ride to a high standard (Essential)
• Relevant equine qualification (Essential)
• Experience working with children (Essential)
• Clean driving license (Essential)
• Strong knowledge of the equine industry (Desirable).
