About Us
Join our dedicated team and play a vital role in the daily care, exercise, and transportation of horses. You will help maintain the highest standards of horse welfare while supporting riding activities and ensuring a safe, professional environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day care of horses, stable management, exercising horses, transporting horses, and supporting client riding activities. You will work closely with the Head Groom to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all horses while maintaining equipment and facilities to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily stable yard and field duties, including feeding, handling, and grooming horses.
- Muck out and clean stables to a high standard.
- Report any horse ailments, infections, or injuries to the Head Groom immediately.
- Administer treatments to horses as directed.
- Exercise allocated horses daily through lunging, hacking, schooling, or track cantering.
- Safely lead fit horses, including stallions.
- Check and maintain the safety and serviceability of all equipment, reporting any repairs required.
- Ensure riding arenas are clean and tidy at the end of each day.
- Transport horses safely as required.
- Assist with client activity preparation and riding activities, following established procedures.
- Support the induction of new starters by acting as a buddy where required.
- Carry out any other duties requested by management within the scope of the role.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working as a Groom (essential).
- Has experience in horse care (essential).
- Can ride to BHS Stage 2 standard (essential).
- Holds a clean driving licence (essential).
- Has experience working with children (essential).
- Holds an equine qualification (desirable).
