Responsibilities include cleaning assigned properties to the highest standard of cleanliness and ensuring standards remain consistent in and out of season. This includes but is not limited to:
- Keeping all hallways, staircases and lifts clean and tidy, including washing down, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning, sweeping and mopping using the correct products and equipment.
- Maintaining all bathrooms tidy and clean, such as baths, showers, lavatories, tiles, mirrors, vanity units and floors.
- Keeping all kitchens clean and tidy, including washing dishes, pans, ovens, hobs, cupboards, floors and shelves.
- Running all water outlets on a regular basis from the kitchens, bathrooms and cloakrooms to prevent legionella growth, completing records and reporting any water temperature or pressure fluctuation.
- Turning mattresses periodically with the help of others, always following health and safety procedures.
- Being responsible for pre-arrival set-ups, during stay services, departure deep cleaning, and low season housekeeping maintenance of assigned properties as directed by Management.
- Opening and closing assigned properties, disarming alarms at the start of a shift and setting alarms at the end of a shift, reporting any problems with alarms to the Housekeeping Office immediately.
- Ensuring that any persons entering your place of work are legitimate staff or contractors, with no access given to any persons unless prior arrangements have been made via the Housekeeping Office.
- Ensuring that contractors working in properties adhere to company policy and always keep the workplace neat and tidy, ensuring all contractors sign in/out when visiting properties.
- Reporting any maintenance problems within properties to your supervisor or to the Housekeeping Office.
- Processing all large quantities of laundry for pickup and drop-off, reporting any discrepancies to your supervisor, and checking laundry on return to ensure quality of work meets required standards.
- Assisting Supervisors with stock takes of all operating equipment and property inventories.
- Being responsible for the upkeep of all housekeeping equipment and informing Supervisors when replacement of machinery, cleaning materials, etc. are required.
- Monitoring and maintaining the crockery, cutlery and table linen stores effectively.
- Reporting any damages/stains to carpets or soft furnishings to your supervisor immediately.
- Attending to guest requests promptly and efficiently, keeping your supervisor informed of any extra requests.
- Placing food orders through the housekeeping office when clients are in residence, checking on receipt of delivery that quantity and quality are correct, and informing the office immediately of any discrepancies/quality issues.
- Dealing with any personal items left in properties in the correct manner.
- Setting up and servicing all accommodation for overnight guests and attending to their needs and requests.
- Being responsible for mobile phones and ensuring they are in good working order.
- Being flexible with working a rotating shift including weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Completing any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.
Qualifications include:
- Able to speak and understand English (Essential).
- Experience in professional housekeeping and ability to handle the physical demands of the role (Desirable).
- Safe handling of hazardous chemicals training (Desirable).
- Valid UK driver's license, preferably manual (Desirable).
