As a Commercial Catering Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of commercial kitchen equipment. Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you will deliver both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime and the highest operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, servicing, and repair of commercial catering equipment.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns.
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs across a variety of kitchen equipment.
- Work on equipment including ovens, fryers, grills, hot cupboards, woks, and Rational ovens.
- Source and order parts and materials as required.
- Complete certification and job reports accurately (manual or electronic).
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Oversee contractors on-site, ensuring work is completed to required standards.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Participate in shift patterns as required during client occupation.
Qualifications
- Gas Safe certified (CCCN1 Core Commercial Catering Gas Safety).
- COMCAT qualifications (levels 1-5 preferred).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Strong experience working with commercial catering equipment.
- Knowledge of Natural Gas & LPG systems.
- Good understanding of health & safety, COSHH, and building regulations.
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
