We're looking for a Workday Financials Specialist to join our modern and approachable IT Applications team, based in Knightsbridge, Central London. This is a key role with genuine ownership of Workday Financials, working closely with Finance and senior leadership to ensure the platform is configured, reported on and used effectively across the business. You'll be joining an established, enthusiastic IT team that values practical delivery, collaboration and using technology to make a real difference. Key Responsibilities:
- Workday Financials Configuration & Support
- Manage, maintain and enhance the configuration of Workday Financials in line with best practice
- Act as a subject matter expert for Workday Financials, resolving queries and issues efficiently
- Proactively review existing configuration and recommend improvements to optimise system usage and performance
- Ensure system configuration supports business, financial and compliance requirements
- Reporting & Dashboards
- Design, build and maintain Workday Financials reports and dashboards
- Translate high‑level reporting requirements into accurate, clear and meaningful outputs
- Work closely with stakeholders to ensure reporting supports operational and strategic decision-making
- Maintain high levels of data integrity and consistency across all Workday Financials reporting
- Business Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance teams, including Accounts Payable and management accountants, to support effective use of Workday Financials
- Provide practical guidance on system capability, reporting and best practice
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider leadership team
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Support and guide Finance users with varying levels of system experience
- Deliver Workday training to colleagues outside Finance and support their effective use of the system
- Contribute to documentation and user guidance where appropriate
- Integrations (Collaborative Involvement)
- Work closely with the team member responsible for Workday integrations, particularly financial integrations
- Provide functional input into integration design, testing and issue resolution
- Develop sufficient understanding of integrations to support end‑to‑end Financials processes
- Act as a liaison between IT, Finance and integration partners as required
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Workday Financials roadmap
- Support initiatives focused on process improvement and automation within Finance
- Contribute to emerging areas such as Accounts Payable automation and the use of AI-enabled tools
- Engage with the organisation's Workday support partner where appropriate, while retaining ownership of recommendations and issue resolution
- General
- Stay up to date with Workday Financials releases and best practice
- Participate in testing, change and release activities
- Provide occasional out-of-hours support when required to meet business needs or support key system activity
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential
- Proven experience working with Workday Financials in a configuration and support capacity
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and how they are implemented within Workday Financials
- Strong experience in Workday Financials reporting methods, including dashboards
- Ability to translate high‑level business requirements into practical system and reporting solutions
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with Finance and senior stakeholders
Desirable
- Exposure to, or working knowledge of, Workday Financials integrations
- Experience of customer and intercompany billing within Workday Financials
- Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-country financial environments
- Exposure to the Workday security model and how it is implemented within Workday Financials
- Exposure to French accounting environments (useful but not essential)
