Housekeeping Supervisor (PLJA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee pre-arrival, arrival, during-stay, and departure housekeeping operations for assigned properties.
  • Ensure that properties are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Assist in training housekeeping staff, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
  • Organise staff rosters, assign workloads, and monitor housekeeping staff and contractors.
  • Issue keys in accordance with departmental procedures and ensure staff have adequate cleaning supplies.
  • Set and maintain high standards for staff appearance and behaviour.
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Verify the legitimacy of individuals entering properties.
  • Collaborate with the Housekeeping Coordinator for efficient scheduling.
  • Manage purchase orders and requests, ensuring timely delivery of items.
  • Organise end-of-season maintenance and spring-cleaning programs for soft furnishings and other areas.
  • Conduct stock takes and ensure properties are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Attend to client requests and manage personal items left in properties.
  • Ensure proper handling of personal and household laundry, particularly in overseas properties.
  • Organise service rotas and supervise staff when clients are in residence.
  • Assist clients with personal tasks such as sourcing items, shopping, and booking restaurants.
  • Handle flower and chocolate orders, general shopping, and pet care duties.
  • Assist in setting up new or rental properties as needed.
  • Liaise with other departments and attend departmental meetings.
  • Supervise timesheets and rotas and handle ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • COSHH, manual handling, and health and safety certifications (Essential)
  • Proven housekeeping experience (Essential)
  • Supervisory or management experience (Essential)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (Essential)
  • Clean driving license (Desirable)
