Key responsibilities include cleaning assigned properties to the highest standard of cleanliness and ensuring standards remain consistent in and out of season, maintaining a state of readiness. Keep all hallways, staircases and lifts clean and tidy. Wash, dust, polish, vacuum, sweep and mop using correct products and equipment. Keep all bathrooms tidy and clean (baths, showers, lavatories, tiles, mirrors, vanity units, floors). Keep all kitchens clean and tidy – washing dishes, pans, ovens, hobs, cupboards, floors and shelves. Run all water outlets regularly from kitchens, bathrooms and cloakrooms to prevent legionella growth; complete records and report any water temperature or pressure fluctuations. Turn mattresses periodically with the help of others, always following health and safety procedures. Perform pre‑arrival set‑ups, during‑stay services, departure deep cleaning and low‑season housekeeping maintenance as directed by Management.

Open and close assigned properties – disarm alarms at the start of a shift and set them at the end; report any alarm problems to the Housekeeping Office immediately. Ensure only legitimate staff or contractors enter the workplace; no access is given without prior arrangement via the Housekeeping Office. Ensure contractors adhere to company policy and keep the work area neat and tidy; contractors must sign in/out when visiting properties. Report maintenance problems within properties to the supervisor or the Housekeeping Office. Process large quantities of laundry for pick‑up and drop‑off; report discrepancies to the supervisor and check returned laundry for quality. Assist supervisors with stock takes of all operating equipment and property inventories. Maintain all housekeeping equipment; notify supervisors when replacement of machinery or cleaning materials is required. Monitor and maintain crockery, cutlery and table linen stores effectively. Report any damages or stains to carpets or soft furnishings to the supervisor immediately. Attend to guest requests promptly and efficiently; inform supervisors of any extra requests. Place food orders through the housekeeping office when clients are in residence; verify receipt of delivery for quantity and quality and report discrepancies. Handle any personal items left in properties in the correct manner. Set up and service accommodation for overnight guests and attend to their needs and requests. Maintain mobile phones in good working order. Work flexible rotating shift schedules, including weekends and bank holidays. Carry out any tasks or responsibilities requested by management within the scope of the position.
