The Defence Geographic Centre (DGC) is a unit within the National Centre for Geospatial Intelligence (NCGI) delivering geospatial intelligence, geospatial information, services and liaison to Defence, including deployed forces, partners across government and international partners, underpinning strategic to tactical level decision-making and action. The exploitation of imagery and elevation data is essential to the successful delivery of this mission.
We have an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and driven individual to lead the Imagery and Elevation Exploitation (IEE) team that specialises in the precise geopositioning of earth observation imagery datasets, the output of imagery products and the exploitation of elevation data to support strategic and operational objectives. This role is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading, managing and developing the IEE team to ensure the timely and effective delivery of imagery and terrain products for Defence planning, training and operations, within a context of Allied co-production programmes, and as support to DGC strategic and ad-hoc production activities.
- Increase the integration of IEE into NCGI at RAF Wyton, building mutually beneficial partnerships and identifying areas where IEE outputs and expertise can add value to the wider enterprise.
- Support DGC transformation activities as part of the DGC leadership at RAF Wyton.
- Engage proactively in tasks to improve the lived experience of DGC staff working at and relocating to RAF Wyton.
This role has direct line management responsibilities for six members of staff.

Alongside your salary of £44,590, the Ministry of Defence contributes £12,917 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. We offer a range of excellent benefits including but not limited to the following:

The post does not offer relocation expenses. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
