Overview
Defence Digital Commercial is building a centre of procurement excellence, focusing on getting the best outcomes across all contracts and embedding good practice in supplier relationship management. We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join the Software Category within the sub-category team for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services and the Digital Foundry.
Defence is following the Cloud First strategy, moving from on-prem data centres to the cloud to exploit the latest technology. This role involves sourcing and contract management in a dynamic, fast-paced and agile environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage your own procurements and contracts, reporting directly to the Senior Commercial Manager.
- Lead on procurement requirements and contract management for a range of complex and high‑value projects.
- Ensure governance with government regulations and apply commercial best practice.
- Develop sourcing strategies and contract management plans tailored to a variety of procurement projects.
- Deliver value for money while adapting to shifting priorities and maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Line management responsibilities may be included depending on team needs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrable commercial experience or transferable skills.
- Experience in sourcing and contract management within a digital technology capability context.
Location
MOD Corsham, Wiltshire (SN13 9ET) as base location.
Working pattern
Flexible working, hybrid working arrangements discussed prior to appointment; role may involve a balance of in-office and home working depending on business needs.
