Job description
The Assistant Head in Core Recruitment & Joining Services (CRJS) role is a critical leadership position ensuring that the operation contributes to the DBS vision by providing timely and high quality services to all of our customers. This role requires comprehensive Operational Delivery and leadership experience with the responsibility for two direct reports and c.55 staff via a tiered Management Team, delivering critical HR front line services to internal and external customers against operational targets and KPIs.
Key outputs and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Proactive identification and support of the management of risk across all service lines,
- Co-ordinate improvement programmes to ensure effective contribution to the wider drive for better joined up working,
- Realise more efficient and improved customer experiences,
- Proactively input into business solutions from initial concept to implementation,
- Ensure resources are motivated, trained and focussed on the best customer experience at all times,
- Enable robust stakeholder collaboration,
- Build and maintain positive working relationship across Defence Business Services and the wider Ministry of Defence.

- Significant experience of operating at a strategic level,
- Ability to confidently provide direction and leadership to multiple teams across multiple locations and a set of complex activities,
- Ability to think, operate and lead large teams at a strategic level,
- Ability to communicate effectively, build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders,
