Have you considered working for Defence? The Ministry of Defence employs over 50,000 Civil Servants. Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Ours is a diverse workforce, with roles ranging from trainers, human resources, teachers and psychologists to storekeepers, financiers, project and programme managers, and policy secretariat staff. There are many different functions and professions delivering key outputs for the Army.
At Andover Support Unit (ASpU), the Transport Support Unit (TSU) provides support to the Army Headquarters (AHQ) within Marlborough Lines, Andover. The TSU is a 24 hour, 7 days a week operational environment to conduct and support the military capability to operations worldwide. Ensuring compliance in Defence Policy and Governance, the TSU driver service includes conveying AHQ personnel in either car, MPV or minibus to various locations throughout the UK.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:- Tasked by Transport clerks in accordance with driver hours regulations, to conduct driven duties for AHQ personnel.
- First line vehicle maintenance and cleanliness of allocated staff car and AHQ fleet vehicles.
- Delivery of Driver Awareness training, direct to AHQ personnel, providing certification.
- Duties as reasonably required commensurate with the grade.
The successful candidate will work to the following working pattern:
- Week 1: 0400-1200 Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: 1800-0200 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Week 3: 0400-1200 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- Week 4: 1200-2000 Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday
To be considered for this job, you must demonstrate you are a proficient driver, with excellent communication skills and good attention to detail. Excellent time management skills, being flexible with an ability to prioritise is crucial, and we are looking for someone who can work independently and within a team.
The successful candidate must hold a Category B driving license with no pending driving disqualifications. Upon appointment it is essential that you attain a category D1 licence within the first 12 months of employment if not already held.
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to also hold:

- Category D license
