As part of our continuous commitment to maintaining standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, we are seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team.
Role Overview: The Quality & Compliance Manager will support the day-to-day management of the compliance team, coordinate the delivery of effective compliance systems that enable departments to meet statutory, regulatory, and sector-wide obligations. They will support the development and implementation of policies, processes, quality enhancements, student and staff surveys, and good governance across the college. The compliance manager will have a strong understanding of processes, risk management, and regulatory assurance. The Quality & Compliance Manager will have good stakeholder management and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a wide range of academic and non-academic stakeholders. The Quality & Compliance Manager will have a good ability of team management, time management, and working to deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor compliance frameworks, internal controls, reporting systems and surveys.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the Compliance Officer and promote a culture of accountability.
- Support risk management, business continuity, and alignment across departments and campuses.
- Prepare and present compliance reports; support audits and governance reviews.
- Optimise compliance systems and processes, including digital tools and automation.
- Provide guidance, training, and advice to embed compliance awareness across the college.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HE sector regulations and best practice.
- Support data protection, digital transformation, and quality governance across the college.
Person Specification: Degree or equivalent experience; postgraduate qualification or professional certification desirable. Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and HE regulations (OfS, HESA, UKVI). Proven experience leading compliance/risk functions and managing teams. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. Ability to work strategically for short and long-term projects and deliverables. Highly organised with project/task management and process improvement expertise.
