UK Management College are looking for enthusiastic and confident individuals to join our team as an IT Support Technician.
Our business is growing rapidly and as such, we have a number of different roles to fulfill. As this is a role in which you will be dealing with students face to face, this is an office-based role in our new campus in Manchester.
No two days will be the same at UKMC, it will be busy and it is very fast-paced. Your role will be to assist with supporting students, aiding in their use of IT software and general computer maintenance.
Job Purpose
- To keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users get the maximum benefit from them
- Provide excellent support to both our students and staff
Key Responsibilities
- install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
- provide support in a face-to-face capacity, over the phone or via remote desktop software, helping staff or clients set up systems or resolve issues
- troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- replace parts as required
- follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- support the roll-out of new applications
- set up new users\’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
- work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
- rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
- test and evaluate new technology
- conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
