The Role

The Events Manager is an integral part of the Marketing team and is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of events across UKMC campuses.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the postholder will manage the end-to-end delivery of events, ensuring they align with organisational objectives and create engaging experiences for attendees.

This role is based at our Manchester Campus and includes line management responsibility for a small events team across multiple campuses.

Regular travel to UKMC campuses and external venues will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise, and deliver a variety of events including Open Days, Student Recruitment Events, Awards Ceremonies, Corporate Events, Graduation Celebrations, Staff Engagement Activities, and Community Events.
  • Develop and manage a strategic events calendar aligned with marketing, recruitment, and business objectives.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand event requirements and translate event concepts into successful outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Campus Heads and key stakeholders regarding assigned events.
  • Coordinate venue selection, logistics, accommodation, transportation, catering, signage, displays, accessibility requirements, and event materials.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Admissions, Academic, and Operations teams to ensure all event assets and communications are delivered on time.
  • Manage event budgets, supplier relationships, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Lead and support a small team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management where required.
  • Oversee event branding and ensure consistency of messaging and visual identity across all events.
  • Manage internal communications to keep colleagues informed about upcoming events and event outcomes.
  • Monitor event performance, gather feedback from attendees and stakeholders, and implement continuous improvements.
  • Prepare post-event reports and evaluations, including recommendations and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, venue regulations, and organisational policies.
  • Maintain accurate event records, documentation, and project plans.
  • Support wider marketing initiatives and campaigns where required.
  • Knowledge & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an events management, events marketing, or related role.
  • Proven experience managing the successful delivery of multiple events simultaneously.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous line management or team leadership experience is essential.
  • Experience managing event budgets, suppliers, and external agencies.
  • Higher education, college, or educational sector experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience reporting on event performance and delivering measurable outcomes.
