The UEFA European Championship is one of the world’s biggest sporting events. In 2028, it will take place across the UK & Ireland, bringing significant operational scale and requiring close coordination between host cities, stadiums, government partners and UEFA.
The Role
As Senior Overlay Manager, you will lead the strategic planning and delivery of all UK & Ireland overlay infrastructure across the tournament footprint. This includes temporary structures and installations that support safe operations, clear wayfinding, secure perimeters and high-quality venue presentation. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be the UK & Ireland lead for overlay, ensuring consistency, compliance and operational excellence across multiple venues, including stadia and team training facilities. This is a senior, hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong technical expertise with calm leadership, sound judgement and the ability to coordinate delivery across multiple partners.
Responsibilities

Qualifications
- Experience planning and delivering overlay for major events or complex, multi-site programmes.
- A strong understanding of temporary facilities and infrastructure requirements.
- Experience leading contractors and suppliers across multiple locations.
- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence working with budgets, suppliers and delivery schedules.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel across the UK & Ireland as required.
