About UK & Ireland 2028 Limited

UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for planning and delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in close partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and communities to deliver a safe, inclusive and world‑class tournament.

About UEFA EURO 2028

The UEFA European Championship is one of the world’s biggest sporting events. In 2028, the tournament will take place across the UK & Ireland, bringing together Europe’s top national teams across a 31‑day, 51‑match tournament watched by millions in stadia and billions worldwide. Delivering an event of this scale requires exceptional coordination, professionalism and collaboration.

The Role

If you take pride in organisation, collaboration and doing important work properly, this role puts you at the heart of UEFA EURO 2028 delivery. The Safety & Security function at UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for the planning, coordination and delivery of a safe and secure tournament across all official sites — including stadiums, team hotels, training venues, transport hubs and fan zones. As Security Operations Coordinator, you will provide essential coordination and operational support to the Safety & Security team, helping ensure work is planned, tracked, communicated and delivered to a high standard. This is a pivotal role within a high‑profile programme, suited to someone who thrives on structure, clarity and supporting others to deliver at pace.

What you’ll be doing

  • Acting as a central point of contact for the Security team and supporting internal and external communications.
  • Coordinating logistics for meetings, site visits, working groups and events — including travel, accommodation, venues, agendas and follow‑ups.
  • Supporting the development and tracking of project plans, milestones and key deliverables across the tournament timeline.
  • Assisting with financial administration, including raising purchase orders, tracking invoices and supporting budget monitoring.
  • Producing accurate reports, documents and presentation materials to support senior leaders, including the Director of Safety & Security.
  • Managing information sensitively and exercising sound judgement at all times.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone highly organised, dependable and collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail. You will bring:

  • Proven experience providing high‑quality administrative or coordination support in a fast‑moving or evolving environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation and presentations.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience supporting financial or procurement processes (e.g. purchase orders, invoices, budget tracking).
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work calmly with sensitive information.
  • Exposure to project coordination or support, with an understanding of project lifecycles and milestones.
  • Experience in safety, security, events or public‑facing environments is helpful but not essential. Transferable experience from other sectors is welcomed.

What you’ll gain from this role

  • Gain hands‑on experience supporting the planning and delivery of a major international tournament.
  • Build exposure to safety and security operations across multiple venues, cities and partners.
  • Develop confidence working with senior leaders, public authorities and complex stakeholder groups.
  • Strengthen coordination, project support and operational delivery skills in a high‑profile environment.
  • Build experience that is highly transferable across major events, infrastructure programmes and public‑sector delivery.

Values & Behaviours

  • Embrace the Opportunity: Seeks out opportunities to improve work practices. Demonstrates flexibility and a can‑do attitude. Delivers tasks on time and to a high standard. Acts on feedback to improve work and results.
  • Thrive Together: Collaborates across teams and welcomes diverse input. Communicates clearly and respectfully.

Why apply?

We offer a competitive salary (plus benefits of 25 days holiday, contributory pension, Private Medical Insurance etc), which coupled with the opportunity to be part of one of the biggest sporting events to ever take place across UK & Ireland we think makes for an exciting place to be!

Where is the role based?

Our head office is based at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London, however depending on your role you may be required to travel across the UK and Ireland to our 9 Stadiums and 8 Host Cities, with some roles being based in those locations. As an event delivery organisation, it’s important that we have regular time together in the office and currently employees come together at least 3 days a week at HQ in Wembley, with the number of days in HQ increasing as the project develops, with a minimum of 3‑4 days needed in 2026‑2027 and full‑time in the year of 2028.

Everyone is welcome

We’re hiring for excellence through inclusion. We’re building a skilled, values‑led workforce that reflects the diversity of the UK and Ireland. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and identities — and we don’t expect everyone to have followed a traditional path to get here. We’re happy to accommodate any requests for reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please email any requests to careers@uki2028.com. We’ll work with you to ensure you can perform at your best. All employees will be subject to a DBS check appropriate to the nature of the role and in line with our commitment to providing a safe and inclusive working environment.
