We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world-class standards.

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large-scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Role

As a Volunteer Coordinator within the Central Volunteer Management team, you’ll play a key role in bringing the volunteer experience to life by supporting the recruitment, engagement and delivery of a diverse and passionate volunteer workforce. This is a varied and fast-paced role at the heart of the programme. You’ll help ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, while contributing to an experience that inspires, connects and supports volunteers every step of the way.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Plays a key role in delivering the volunteer programme across all venues, projects and Host Cities, supporting strong coordination and communication with stakeholders such as National Associations and local partners.
  • Works closely with the Volunteer Recruitment Manager to ensure the programme is delivered to a high standard and meets the needs of the tournament.
  • Contributes to the promotion of the volunteer programme, helping to drive high application numbers through engaging content and campaigns.
  • Supports the development of training, content and resources, helping venue teams deliver a consistent and high-quality volunteer experience.
  • Works collaboratively with other projects to ensure volunteers are smoothly integrated into all areas of tournament delivery.
  • Supports the Volunteer Systems Manager in the use of volunteer systems by becoming an expert in it and supporting with training and guidance.
  • Supports the delivery of key volunteer events, including training sessions, briefings and thank you events.
  • Contributes to post-event evaluation and learning, supporting feedback collection and helping shape future volunteer legacy.
