About UK & Ireland 2028 Limited
UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world-class standards.
About UEFA EURO 2028
UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large-scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.
The Role
This role will help turn the contribution of UK & Ireland 2028’s partners, suppliers and external organisations into meaningful social and environmental impact. Working across the Impact & Sustainability team, the role will build and manage partnerships that bring additional investment, expertise, innovation, reach and delivery capability into the tournament’s Community Programme. The role will be responsible for identifying opportunities with UEFA (and its commercial partners), UKI suppliers, third-sector organisations and innovation partners; shaping those opportunities into deliverable projects; coordinating internal and external stakeholders; and ensuring commitments are delivered, measured and communicated effectively. The postholder will also act as UK&I 2028’s key interface with the UEFA Innovation Hub, helping identify and progress innovation opportunities that can strengthen tournament delivery and legacy. Ultimately, this role is about converting external relationships and commitments into practical programmes and partnerships that increase the social and environmental impact of UEFA EURO 2028.
What you’ll be doing
- Develop and manage relationships with UEFA (and its partners where relevant), relevant suppliers and third sector partners to align their social impact and sustainability objectives with the tournament Community Programme.
- Lead liaison with above partners to support their contributions to the Community Programme partnership projects (delivered across UK and Ireland in social impact and environmental sustainability).
- Management of UK&I 2028 responsibilities related to the tournament innovation programme, led by the UEFA Innovation Hub.
- Work cross-functionally with impact, sustainability, communications, and other delivery teams to ensure partnership commitments are reflected accurately in campaign and activation planning.
- Ensure all partnership activity reflects best practice in co-design, working with under-served communities to shape programme delivery.
- Monitor sustainability commitments linked to partnerships, ensuring alignment with wider organisational environmental and social governance goals.
Essential experience and skills:
- Relevant social impact, sustainability or social value experience.
- Proven experience working on programmes, partnerships or initiatives designed to deliver measurable social or environmental outcomes.
- Project delivery– experience taking an initiative from concept through planning, stakeholder agreement, delivery and evaluation, managing multiple contributors and deadlines.
- Cross-functional stakeholder management– experience coordinating colleagues from different functions or organisations where you do not have direct authority over them.
- Commercial judgement– confidence managing expectations, negotiating priorities, resolving delivery issues and understanding what can appropriately be committed on behalf of an organisation.
