UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is the local organising committee responsible for delivering UEFA EURO 2028 across the UK & Ireland. We work on behalf of the five Football Associations and in partnership with governments, host cities, stadiums and delivery partners to plan and deliver the tournament safely, inclusively and to world‑class standards.

About UEFA EURO 2028

UEFA EURO is one of the world’s largest sporting events. In 2028, it will be hosted across multiple cities in the UK & Ireland, requiring large‑scale coordination across transport, infrastructure, stadiums and public services. UEFA owns the tournament and sets requirements; UK & Ireland 2028 Limited is responsible for delivering it locally.

The Role

The Communications & Campaigns workstream will inspire engagement and connect with key audiences to support the delivery of an outstanding UEFA EURO 2028 tournament in UK and Ireland. The Communications Manager will work closely with the Head of Communications and Campaigns by managing day‑to‑day communications activity across stakeholder, public and media communications for UK & Ireland 2028 Limited.

The successful candidate will play a central role in implementing the tournament’s communications strategy, delivering tactical communications plans for major milestones, coordinating UK & Ireland 2028 and partner messaging and supporting robust media and issues management activity.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the implementation of the UK & Ireland 2028 Communications Strategy, aligned to tournament objectives, stakeholder priorities and UEFA requirements.
  • Lead day‑to‑day media relations activity across national, regional and trade media – under the direction of the Head of Communications & Campaigns.
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of communications activity across key Tournament stakeholders including Host Football Associations, Government Partners, Host Cities and other delivery partners.
  • Support the delivery of content across owned, earned and shared channels in line with the agreed communications approach.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in communications, media relations and stakeholder communications within a high‑profile organisation or agency.
  • Experience managing multi‑stakeholder communications programmes, ideally within sport, major events, public sector or complex partnerships.
  • Strong media handling skills, with experience drafting press materials and managing media enquiries.
  • Experience supporting reputation management and issues response.
  • Experience developing communications materials for a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders.
