The Home Office is transforming how citizens register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships in England and Wales. Our digital teams are developing new services that will, for the first time, enable digital registration, creating a modern, user-focused experience and delivering improved services for the public. Working within multidisciplinary teams of product, delivery, engineering and user-centred design professionals, we are building modern digital products that meet the needs of citizens and the services that support them. We are looking for a Performance Analyst to join this growing product family and help develop performance measurement frameworks, including KPIs, goals, user needs and benefits, to ensure our services deliver measurable value. This is an exciting opportunity to join at an early stage of product development, shaping how performance is measured and influencing the future direction of a critical digital service used across England and Wales. Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. Where this is the case, employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in the office.
What you will do:
- Leading the development and consistency of performance measurement frameworks across multiple projects, ensuring these frameworks are aligned to business needs and strategy.
- Exploiting opportunities through the recognition of new digital technologies to enhance analytical capability in alignment with business goals.
- Interpreting complex KPIs translating them into simple, easy to understand, custom-made professional visuals.
- Communicating service performance and analytical findings to internal and external senior stakeholders.
- Identifying and telling actionable stories and business insights from data to stakeholders and the team, to inform user-centric design decisions.
- Encouraging best practice by ensuring data integrity and proactively identifying improvements to current approaches.
What you will bring:
- Effectively leading and managing multiple teams, ensuring quality assurance of analytical work and providing overarching guidance.
- Turning complex data into valuable insights and solutions that inform decisions which are aligned to strategy, business goals and end user needs.
- Presenting findings and complex tactical/strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders in a language which meets the needs of different users.
- Analysing digital performance and managing the configuration and deployment of complex analytical tools and solutions.
- Managing the design and exploitation of the relevant statistical techniques to report the accuracy of findings.
- Validating / assuring analytics configurations and designing implementation protocols for analytics tools.
- Using tools such as Google analytics, Google Tag Manager and Looker Studio.
At the Home Office, your work has real-world impact, shaping the safety and security of millions. We offer:
- Meaningful Work: Contribute to critical national security and public service initiatives.
- Career Growth: Benefit from tailored development frameworks and professional communities.
- Flexible Working: Balance your professional and personal life with hybrid work options.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Join a workplace where your unique background and talents are celebrated.
Benefits include:
- Exceptional pension: Employer contribution of 28.97%.
- Generous leave: 25 days annual leave (rising to 30 with service), 8 public holidays, and 1 day for the King’s Birthday.
- Flexible working: Options include full-time, part-time, compressed hours, job sharing, and a hybrid model (minimum 60% on-site).
- Learning and development: Access to training, technical accreditations, and funded qualifications (subject to approval).
